The Deadline Looms...

A brief note as I step away from application reading...the deadline for both Early Decision II and Regular Decision applications is this Thursday, January 15! It is important that students submit Parts I, II & III before the date passes. If the other application parts don't arrive until after the date, there is no need to worry--we understand that you don't control the submission of transcripts, test results and recommendations. To be considered an applicant for the Class of 2013, you must submit your application no later than this Thursday!

Be cautious that waiting until the last moment is risky. As you read (hopefully!) in my last blog, procrastination until the last hour produced a ton of headaches for many people at the last deadline. More than 300 colleges and universities are now using the Common Application and this website can become very slow with so much processing required at one time.

A day after electronically submitting your application to Kenyon, you'll receive an email from us indicating we've processed it. This email will include a username and password to the myapp.kenyon.edu website. Take note of this information! From this site you can check on the status of your application and see what we've received and on which parts we're still waiting. We'll also send you notification by both email and regular postal mail if your application is incomplete, as well as when it is complete. There is no need to call our office...we'll let you know when everything has arrived safely in Gambier!

From home, all the best wishes.
